Last

Welcome to my last post on this blog, dear readers. Thank you so much for your faithfulness in visiting and allowing me to share with you!

Compilation of 270 movies from this year in six minutes. You guys know I'm not a fan of long clips, but this was a lot of fun (and probably took forever to edit). Well done. By genrocks on YT (G-Whiz Productions). [Source: ICYDK]

Paris-based artist Alexandre Oudin plays around with the new Facebook layout. Brilliant. [Source: I am Forgiven >> Tech Crunch]

Is this a word?
Very useful (especially for those Scrabble players out there).

A Guide to Bakeries in Manhattan's Chinatown by Gordon Mark for Serious (NY) Eats that I've been wanting to share with you guys for a long time. I wish I was kidding but I bookmarked and stored this link over two years ago. Kept forgetting. Finally figured it's now or never. If any of you are ever in NYC and try these places out, let me know if this review holds true.

Bon Voyage - Fun bookmarks by California shop Seeso (Graphics) for the traveler in all of us.

You might remember the fruit themed Kleenex boxes from last year. The company has now come out with dessert versions. Vanilla, chocolate, red velvet cakes and cherry pie. Yes please! [Source: The DieLine]
Never been a fan of cookie dough (the whole raw egg thing) so these Mrs. Fields chocolate covered nibbles seem unappealing to me, but the packaging is lovely. By HartungKemp. [Source: The DieLine]

Wanted to share some great nature and landscape photographers.

It happened so many months ago but photos of the Icelandic Eyjafjallajökull eruption still fascinate me. Check out some amazing pics by mechanical engineer (and kickbutt photographer) Skarphéðinn Þráinsson on his Flickr. Can't post any due to copyright, but I particularly like this one. Stunning.

Lovely pieces by Austrian-born US-based photographer Michael Nager on The Creative Finder.

I found out about photographer Greg White through bumbumbum and was immediately drawn to his images of Svalbard (Norway).

A big contrast from his desert shot of Dubai featured on his blog.

Oh, and hello, he's also photographed Lukas Podolski for Ubisoft (along with other big athletes for Nike). Automatic cool points.

New trailers dropped this week for The Tree of Life (Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Jessica Chastain) and Water for Elephants (Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Christoph Waltz). Don't know how good the movies will be, but their trailers have some beautiful art direction!

Such wonderful cosmetics photography by Wonyoung Jung represented by agency Teo.

Untitled ink-on-paper turtle drawings by Toronto-based artist Nicholas Di Genova. [Source: bumbumbum]

Gorgeous food photography by Beth Galton. You can never have too many good food images. Found through Lushlee's feature.

Long Island-based "mathemusician" Vi Hart uses doodles to make mathematics fun (again). Brilliant and thoroughly enjoyable! Here's one of the videos I liked: sums of infinite series demonstrated through infinite elephants and camels. [Found through SC~.]

Just in time for Christmas: digital retelling of the Nativity story in this short clip/ad for Excentric. Obviously not fully historically accurate but still so much fun. [Found through IA~]

Shooting LOST finale's last scene. (You didn't really think you'd get through the last post on this blog without some mention of the show, did you?) [Source: FY Matthew Fox >> ionsquare]

Well, this is it.

I won't really say goodbye because that will make me too sad. Thank you for tuning in these last four years (1100+ entries) and going on this crazy journey with me. I hope you enjoyed my posts, because I certainly enjoyed sharing them with you. Your readership means so much to me, and it has helped shaped Try Not to Sink in many ways.

Thank you (whoever you are reading this) for being such a big part of this blog!
