Adorable bunny birthday cake by Cake Journal. This was a white cake with raspberry mousse, Italian meringue buttercream, and white chocolate fondant (elaborate!), but it makes me want carrot cake. Nom.

I've long admired method soap's beautiful and clean design. The DieLine recently did a feature on Joshua Handy, the VP of Industrial Design for the company (check out his portfolio here and here), which inspired me to post some of method's lovely products.

A very apt LOST and Modern Family pairing.

James McAvoy and Emily Blunt (yay to both) star in the upcoming Gnomeo and Juliet - a, you guessed it, redo of the Shakespeare classic with a gnome twist. Drops February 2011. I'm not particularly interested, but I do think their logo is nicely done. Fun! Found through Just Jared.

Cake and Lanterns

Mid-autumn Festival 中秋節 is upon us (this Wednesday) and I'm looking forward to viewing the gorgeous full moon (if weather will allow it) and eating mooncake.

Anhs Food Blog
's recipe for a snow skin chestnut version to make on your own. [Source: Tastespotting]I like my mooncake traditional with lotus paste (and sans egg yolk, please). Check out her recipe for this kind here - Baked mooncake with salted yolk. Seems like a lot of fun. I would never have thought to try to make it myself.

Mid-autumn Festival is also a time to rock some sweet lanterns. I'm a big fan of the traditional, cellophane and paper, candle lit ones that are shaped like a white rabbit or starfruit, but nowadays kids prefer the more glam, battery-powered, plastic kind. Check out these Finding Nemo ones.

Chew-toy material, plastic fake mooncakes from Park n' Shop.

Buy mooncakes in sets of four or individually.

Food noms: In case mooncake isn't your thing, check out this yummy cake photography from Godiva's bakery dessert truffle ad.

Forgot to blog this yesterday, but here's the trailer for The Tourist, starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. I'm not particularly interested in the movie (although I like both actors), but I'm posting this because of the great typography in the trailer. Clean, simple, great.
