Meet Cooper, the photographer cat. Once a week his owners put a digital camera around his neck, and a pic is snapped every 2 minutes as Cooper roams around. Brilliant! Some of the photo results are quite beautiful. Check out his
site to learn more or buy prints.

Oh So Beautiful Paper - a great blog that highlights beautiful parchment]

The typhoon that hit the Philippines has now moved west and nearer to HK (although low probability of a direct hit) so we are getting some rain today.
I realized the other day how dirty umbrellas are! Usually they are dry and stored away; and you would think that when in use they are simply wet with water and therefore clean. But the reality is that umbrellas are never washed. We use them, dry them, and then store them away again. In between that process, they get drenched by polluted rain, you grab germ-y MTR poles before holding the umbrella handle, and the little velcro strap gets dragged around on the floor of the bus. Mmmm...sanitary.
It is crazy to me how the Philippines has virtually come to a stand still after the terrible typhoon but the rest of the world can go about their day as if nothing happened. I guess that happens with every kind of tragedy. You would think that Hong Kong, with its ample population of Filipinos, would somehow screech to a stop in reverence after witnessing the disaster so close to home. But nope. Today the radio went about its regular broadcasts, people on the train still stared blankly into space on the way to work, and my stomach still grumbled on time at lunch. Meanwhile brothers and sisters in the Phils are toiling around the clock and sacrificing their resources and time to help others out. One beautiful thing out of the whole aftermath is to see how everyone is coming together to aid those in need. M~, J~, and other friends have been setting up relief goods the entire day. You guys are amazing!
