Must Resist

I realize that by posting, I am breaking my own hiatus rule. But I just couldn't help it! Consider this a blip on the radar before I go back undercover.

Small Army

Following the advice of a very wise HW~, I will be nixing blogging for a little bit in lieu of beauty sleep. Thank you for your very faithful readership. I look forward to catching up when I see you next. So many big changes, especially for AC~, TC~, and SN~!

The moon is gorgeously round tonight!

PY~ introduced me to famous Canadian artist Tom Thomson (1877 - 1917), and I've been wanting to feature him for the longest time! Being someone who loves photorealism, his style is not what I usually gravitate to, but his vibrant use of colors to display landscape/nature is too good to pass up! A little late in posting this, but the graphics are so great! Charting which Adidas player had the best World cup hair cut. Winner: David Villa. [Source: Annetterus >> Amelie Poulain]

Check out more WC infographics at World Cup for Nerds. A high proportion of Spain love, but there's some Germany in there too! Also, according to their altitude chart, when you reach 7500m above sea level, you are pretty much unable to digest food and sleeping becomes difficult. Wow.

Left to Die

An explorer gets lost in the middle of the woods in this Shangri-La ad by agency Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong. Not sure if it completely fits with the brand (it certainly is a fresh direction for advertising hotels), but those are some beautiful landscape/nature shots. I wonder where it was filmed. They used trained wolves (making-of video).

Buried's trailer finally drops. The film tells the story of Paul Conroy (Ryan Renolds), who is buried alive with only a phone and a lighter. He has 90 minutes (movie is in real time?) to figure out a way of escape before his oxygen or cell battery run out. It feels like buzz about this movie has been going on for a long time, but I am posting the trailer just because the graphic design is so cool!

Six Months

The longest exposure photographed lasted six months! This image was taken by photographer Justin Quinnell's pin-hole camera, which was attached to a telephone pole and shot frames from December 19, 2007 to June 21, 2008. Read more here. [Source: Hey, Christy > Household Name]

Numbering the Days

Inception, why must you take forever to be released here? New posters came out this past week. I feel like I've been anticipating this movie ever since I saw pictures of Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page filming (at the time the movie title hadn't been released), aka forever ago. So it's been a long wait. Glad to hear so many good reviews.
